- The Coop will be training all its front of house staff over the next two weeks to improve the quality of customer service, in response to our feedback.
- They have also introduced a range called “Simply Value” to provide lower cost goods which does not reduce the quality of the produce.
We are happy to report that we have received information from the Co-Op [Pioneer] about the steps they are taking to initiate a programme of improvement in store. Keep Holmfirth Special was pleased to be able to listen to people’s complaints and relay them to the CO-OP management at our previous meeting.
As a result of our meeting the following positive steps are being taken…
- A training programme is now in place for front of house staff to help them provide better service to customers.
- The supply problem has affected the whole Huddersfield area. Action is being taken, generally to make improvements to the supply of fresh food.
- The marketing people will be coming to the store to advise on how best to promote the store, improve the displays and help them communicate better with customers.
These are all positive moves and first steps in a general programme of improvement which should result in better service to customers.

On the other hand, the tesco will do internet based deliveries (replacing many small cars whizzing around, by one small delivery lorry)
the tesco will also have a petrol station
the tesco will presumably have a broader range of products due to being a bigger shop
