The Examiner have been talking to Tesco who have said they are still interested in developing the Midlothian site. They did not say what they were thinking of doing or when.
KHS has not rested on its laurels since Tesco withdrew its application. We have been busy talking to people and listening to what they have to say about the strengths and problems facing Holmfirth and the Holme Valley.

Residents of Holmfirth in the Holme Valley are taking on the spirit of Nora Batty and preparing to fight Tesco over plans to build a superstore in the town.
Shop keepers and residents in the Yorkshire town made famous by TV’s Last of the Summer Wine are concerned a new superstore could spoil the charm of the Holme Valley.

The Tesco Extra at Harlescott was always controversial and earlier this year admitted it had
allocated more space to comparison goods than permitted by its planning permission
(convenience goods are mostly food; comparison goods are ones you might shop around for,
clothes, fridges, etc.). At stake here are the livelihoods of people who run small retail
businesses in Shrewsbury [...]
